Our Programs
Since its pilot program at the Rock Creek International School in Washington, D.C., and selected Prince William County schools in Virginia in 2002, the Federation of Galaxy Explorers (FOGE) has delivered a hands-on understanding of space science, earth science, engineering, space citizenry, and rocketry to over 100,000 students and families nationwide.

We believe that an educated population is vital for a great society. Therefore, we design programs to stimulate science education for the next generation that teach six primary themes: Science, Engineering, Rocketry, Robotics, Geosciences, and Space Citizenship. Over time, Galaxy Explorers will grow to create a long-term citizen activist force in society, shaping the nation's education policy and furthering the science and engineering required in society. We continue to develop programs to meet industry needs and walk alongside our educational, corporate, and government partners to create engaging, fun-filled programs that address the needs of the communities and inspire a future in STEM. Our programs are designed to prepare children for employment in the 21st century. In the last two decades, since a group of volunteers started FOGE, our alumni have emerged as leaders in the STEM industry.
We depend on dedicated community volunteers across the nation to partner with us in our vision to bring Mission Teams to every community. Most of our Mission Team Leaders are teachers or parents with no particular background in space or engineering. Our lesson plans are written in an easy-to-understand format that guides volunteers through the program and allows them to learn alongside the students on their Mission Teams. Furthermore, while we provide guidelines that ensure continuity across Mission Teams nationwide, they can adapt the educational program to their needs and local circumstances.

In addition to Mission Teams, we host a Rocketry competition, Battle of the Rockets; provide summer camps to educate and inspire in an exciting and challenging environment; and special events to educate and capture the imagination of all involved. We currently offer activity kits for Girl Scouts in Daisy, Brownie, and Junior levels to earn the Space Science Badge (badges are not included in the kit).

Starting a Mission Team is easy. You, too, can inspire kids with how science and technology is changing their lives.
