Battle of the Rockets
This student design-build-launch competition is a series of competitive events focusing on the engineering design cycle that is meant to increase as the competitor’s skill level grows. The events provide multiple difficulty levels for high school and collegiate students to design and construct rockets. Middle school and Junior high teams in 7th-8th grade may enter the competition and compete in the high school division.

The following challenges will be during the 2023 Competition: The Target Altitude Event focuses on rocket design skills; the Mars (Rover) Jumper Event adds the complexity of designing an autonomous robot that must survive launch, deployment, and landing to perform an operation autonomously, and the Deployable Payload (Sounding Rocket) Event where competitors design a payload and rocket to launch to at least 800 feet and no more than 1500 feet and have the payload deploy from the rocket. Teams do not need to have prior rocket experience. For more information on the competition, visit the BOR webpage .
